Ford Takes To The Court With World Champs As New Netball Sponsorship Announced
10 March 2005
Ford Motor Company has announced an exciting new sponsorship relationship which will see new Fiesta, Focus and Territory vehicles supplied to Netball New Zealand.
The sponsorship deal positions Ford as the official vehicle supplier to the World Champion Silver Ferns and Netball New Zealand, and builds on the association that some Ford dealers already have with local netball franchises.
"Netball is the number one sport in New Zealand for females of all ages - both in terms of viewing and participation – and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to partner such a dynamic and growing organisation from the grass roots through to the elite international level," said Corporate Sponsorship Manager, Sarah Henderson.
The partnership commences immediately, and will initially see a fleet of 10 silver vehicles delivered to Netball New Zealand.
"This partnership is a great alignment with vehicles such as Fiesta and Focus, as these two models display many of the characteristics that are desirable in a world class netballer – both are nimble and athletic, dynamic, innovative, inspirational and above all stylish," said Ms. Henderson.
"We look forward to a successful relationship with Netball New Zealand, and more immediately wish the Silver Ferns every success in their upcoming Fisher & Paykel Test Series against England."
The Silver Ferns and Netball New Zealand are the latest addition to Ford's family of sponsorship properties, which include amongst others World Champion Sarah Ulmer, the All Blacks, all New Zealand Super 12 rugby teams, NZ V8 Touring car series, Two Year old horse racing and equestrian, Ford Advanced Drivers School and Variety – The Children's Charity.
