Campbell Live Ahead Of Schedule
TV3’s weeknight current affairs show, Campbell Live, will be on-air from Monday 21 March.
Presented by John Campbell, the programme was originally scheduled to begin some time in April, but will be ready to go this month.
TV3 Director of News and Current Affairs Mark Jennings says a reasonable amount of time had been allowed for things like planning, recruiting the right team, set design and production but everything has come together earlier than anticipated.
“We are ready to go, so there doesn’t seem much point in waiting until April. John is itching to get back “on-air” and start interviewing the country’s newsmakers.”
Jennings says Campbell Live will try not to recycle the 6 o’clock news. “Our aim is to provide a completely different product, one that is relevant to people’s everyday lives. We’ve done a fair bit of research and it has produced some intriguing and surprising results. We have been working on stories that are based around this research and we think it will deliver a programme unlike any other in the market.”
Former C4 presenter Jaquie Brown has been confirmed as a member of the Campbell Live team. Jaquie will bring her own unique perspective and personality to the programme.
