InterCity’s $10 Bus ticket from Picton to Christchurch buys the Garden City and more!
For passengers on the Cook Strait ferry from Wellington, the motor coach link between the ferry terminal at Picton – and the Garden City of Christchurch - just got cheaper! From March 1 until October 31, 2005, InterCity Coachlines is offering Extreme Saver fares from just $10 between Picton on the northern tip of the South Island and Christchurch.
There are two InterCity services a day in each direction between Picton and Christchurch that connect with the Interislander Ferry. The trip from Picton, and in reverse from Christchurch, stops at the communities of Blenheim and Kaikoura and takes less than five and a half hours. Other stops are made at points in between and as needed. Extra departures are added at peak periods. All services use spacious, modern and well-equipped, air conditioned coaches.
Passengers will need to book in advance to take advantage of the Extreme Saver ($10) fare. This can be done on www.intercitycoach.co.nz or at any InterCity agent nationwide. In addition to Extreme Saver fares, InterCity are also offering Super Saver fares from $24 and Saver fares from $35 between Picton and Christchurch and visa versa.
In addition, passengers using this Extreme Saver ($10) may link it with a similar fare currently available for the two hour ride between Picton and Nelson, and ride all the way from Christchurch through Picton, west to Nelson for only $20!
