Langham Hotels International Appoints John Dick As General Manager For The Langham Hotel, Auckland
(15 February 2005 - Auckland & Hong Kong) ----- Langham Hotels International (LHI) announced today the appointment of John Dick as General Manager for its newlyrebranded five-star property, the Langham Hotel, Auckland, effective 22 February 2005. Langham has a luxury hotel heritage dating back to 1865 when the Langham Hotel in London originally opened as Europe’s first Grand Hotel.
For 140 years this flagship hotel has been at the forefront of sophisticated and gracious hospitality and now with the successful launch of the Langham brand internationally in January 2003 there are six Langham Hotels in gateway cities including one each in London, Boston, Melbourne, Auckland and two in Hong Kong. “We went on a worldwide search to find the right calibre General Manager for our New Zealand property and are delighted that John will be joining our dynamic management team to help grow our brand and ensure the continued excellence of the property” stated Eric So, Executive Vice President for Langham Hotels International.
John Dick has extensive general management and hospitality consulting experience both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand and is very close to the five-star Hotel market in Auckland guaranteeing that he understands the nuances of the market and the needs of our guests.
