Matheson’s Bay Takes On Omaha
Omaha may still be the ‘must have’ location for those seeking holiday sites north of Auckland, but nearby Matheson’s Bay can still generate interest. A two bedroom 1960s bach recently sold for $485,000 after just two days.
The property, 200 metres from the coastline, attracted four offers within 24 hours of listing. Harveys Warkworth real estate agent Marie-Dominique Lennan, who is also a resident of Matheson’s Bay says, “interest in Matheson’s Bay and the Kowhai Coast has exploded over the past five years.
At the moment we have a database of 300 serious buyers looking to purchase in the area, so there is immediate interest in a property before a more conventional print advertising campaign even begins.” Harveys is the only office to have an agent who lives and specialises in Matheson’s Bay. It lists and sells 70% of properties in the Leigh and Matheson’s Bay area through their Warkworth office.
