Three Canterbury offices together have been awarded ŒFranchise of the Year¹ by New Zealand¹s largest investment advisory and financial planning company.
The Christchurch, Ferrymead and Timaru offices of Money Managers Ltd, owned by Bernard and Jane Duncan, took the inaugural annual award which is based on leadership, growth and people development. In addition to this, Frank Bleach received the ŒClient Care¹ award.
Bernard is a fourth-generation Cantabrian who came to the financial planning industry in 1993 after a farming career. He established the Christchurch office at this time. The Timaru office followed in 2000 and the Ferrymead office in 2001.
Since 1993, the range of services offered by the company has grown.
Bernard and Frank operate from the Christchurch office, Peter Rawson is the Timaru adviser and Joy Muldrew is the adviser at the Ferrymead office. The Mid Canterbury area is serviced from the Christchurch office.
As well as investment and financial planning advice, the company also offers estate and retirement planning services and employs lawyer Graeme Smith to assist clients in this regard.
Finding the right staff who are dedicated to meeting clients¹ needs, rates very highly with Bernard as a business owner.
³When prospective clients come to us, they are looking for advisers who are able to quickly assess their circumstances and then offer appropriate solutions,² he says.
³They also expect those advisers will be consistently available to them over long periods of time. Support staff also play a big part in client care.
³I have been fortunate in finding talented people whose dedication means that we retain clients over long periods of time², he says.
