Rotorua customer wins at Skycity Hamilton casino
On Wednesday night, a Bay of Plenty resident went home with $10,000 from SKYCITY Hamilton casino as the first ever major sweepstake winner from Rotorua.
The winner, Graham Katting, is an Action cardholder. Action is SKYCITY's free customer rewards programme and membership entitles entry into the Summer Sweepstakes promotion. Graham has been a member of Action for less than a month. The win occurred just after midnight last night. The jackpot will now be reset to $2,500 next week.
Graham says "It's all been a bit of a whirlwind, I can't believe I actually won. I intend to contribute a portion of the money towards my brother's cancer treatment, spoil my 14 year old daughter, and put the rest towards a deposit on a house."
SKYCITY Hamilton General Manager, Phil Keber says, "We have a large number of visitors from areas outside of Hamilton including Rotorua, Taupo and Tauranga. The casino's location in Hamilton means that people from the city's surrounding areas don't have to travel too far to enjoy a night of entertainment at SKYCITY."
Every Wednesday from 8pm, customers have the opportunity to win $2,500 in the Summer Sweepstakes draw. If not won, the Summer Sweepstakes jackpot rolls over to the next week and will continue to jackpot to a maximum of $12,500.
Only Action card holders are eligible to enter the draw (by using their Action card the week prior). They receive one entry per day, for points earned on each table and machine game. On the last Wednesday of every calendar month prize draws take place until the cash must be won.
SKYCITY Hamilton opened in 2002. The main gaming floor includes 23 gaming tables, 339 gaming machines and a VIP members' room. The restaurant and bar, function facilities and four levels of underground parking, plus central location, make this venue a top quality venue to visit for fun and entertainment.
