Lucire to donate 10 cents from each February issue sold to tsunami relief
Wellington and Auckland, January 27 (JY Media) Lucire magazine, New Zealand's leading fashion title with 40,000–70,000 readers online each week and 20,000 print copies per month, will donate 10 cents from each February 2005 print issue sold to tsunami relief, announced publisher Jack Yan today.
Mr Yan said that the donation will take the place of its regular one to plant new trees to counter carbon dioxide emissions generated in production.
‘We ask our competitors, whether they are online or in print, to follow suit,’ he said. ‘In fact, this is one area we’d like our larger competitors to beat us on.’
Donations will be divided amongst several charities and made from the magazine’s sales. While a final decision has not been made, Mr Yan expects recipients to include the MJF Foundation of Sri Lanka and Unicef.
The next issue of Lucire will be released in New Zealand on Monday, January 31, and in Australia and at New York Fashion Week in early February.
