Paul Holmestakes Off February 7
Prime Television is proud to announce today, the on-air start date and title of its new flagship current affairs
programme.
The new programme is titled Paul Holmesand starts broadcasting from Prime’s Auckland studios on Monday 7th February at
7pm.
Paul Holmes’ Executive Producer Pip Keane says, “We have put together a strong and talented team for the new programme
and we are very excited about taking on the old duopoly of TVNZ and TV 3. It’s a new programme with new rules and it’s
all about New Zealanders. It’s a show for the people.”
Paul Holmes says, “I can’t wait to get back into it. I don’t promise miracles overnight but our aim is simple, to build
a programme people feel they connect with, feel free to be part of and feel they have to watch”.
Paul Holmes is New Zealand’s leading current affairs broadcaster, having received a Queens Service Medal in 2003 for
services to broadcasting. His broadcasting career has spanned over 30 years with 16 of those spent in prime-time
television. He also hosts a number one rating radio talkback show on Newstalk ZB.
Prime Television made the highly unanticipated announcement on 2nd November that they had signed a three-year deal with
Paul Holmes. Within weeks, the programme had picked up an investing sponsor, ANZ Bank.
The Paul Holmes team includes senior reporter and anchor Alison Mau, Political Editor Lindsay Perigo, former TV3
reporter Solina Song, reporter/producers Claire Crawford (ex TVNZ) and Steve Hopkins; former CTV reporter and sports
commentator Blair Norton; field producer Dave Slade; senior producers Karen Sims and Amber Older; former Executive
Producer of Holmes at TVNZ, Pip Keane and editors Jade West (ex TVNZ) and Cath Hallinan.
