PRESS RELEASE 22 December 2004
Nelson Fashion Designer Opens New Store
Another Nelson fashion designer has gone nationwide. Catastrophe Designerwear of Hardy Street opened a new fashion store in the Goddards Centre Tauranga last Saturday, 18 December.
Designer Ben McMillan says the company has been supplying around 20 stores in New Zealand with his labels, CSE and Catastrophe and it became obvious there was a national demand to bring his designs and labels together in one store, as he has done in Nelson.
Ben says, the new store's design will be the model for further stores in
Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland over the next 12 months, with plans to revamp the Hardy Street store in the New Year.
And 2005 will be an exciting year for the Nelson designer, with a new men's wear range to be released in January and the addition of a third label to his fashion house.
The new range for men is called 'Catastrophe Man' and Ben describes it as exciting and fresh, "We've already tested the jeans and shirts in sample markets around the country and it'll definitely be a popular brand" says Ben.
As to the introduction of his third label…Ben MacMillan says "It's very much a case of watch this space or hanger, we're on target for a winter 2005 release. The new label will compliment my other two brands, CSE and Catastrophe but will definitely take us to a whole new market".
