Engineers as Leaders” - Convention 2005
The “Engineers as Leaders” theme will reign supreme over the 2005 Institution of Professional Engineers annual convention, and aims to encourage engineers to take more of a leadership role developing New Zealand’s economy and national wealth.
Further technical sessions include Engineering the Built Environment profiling how engineers have approached the task of building the necessary infrastructure to meet the needs of the community, plus the latest developments on the subject of Building and Construction, Emerging Technologies and Engineering Materials.
Also included in the convention line-up is Project Showcase - an opportunity for Members to share their experiences on engineering projects they have recently worked on.
“Auckland Mayor, Dick Hubbard will be giving the opening address. His experience as a food technology engineer who has transitioned to business and then community leadership is in line with our main theme of Engineers as Leaders,” said Andrew Cleland, IPENZ Chief Executive.
The Convention, to be held at Waipuna Lodge, Auckland 16 - 18 March 2005, is the main networking event organised by IPENZ for the benefit of its 10,000 members.
