Executive Change at InterCity Group (NZ) Ltd
InterCity Group, operator of the InterCity and Newmans Coach services announces that C.E.O. David Strange has decided to retire from full time employment and, as a consequence, will leave his position with the company at the end of February 2005. Mr. Strange has worked since 1991 with the people who then bought the InterCity coach business from the Government and has been C E O of the group since 1995. He notes that it has been a pleasure and a rewarding experience seeing the development of the company’s coach business and that he wishes the company and it’s people all the very best for the future.
The company is grateful to David for the effort that he has put into and the influence he has had on the restructuring of the business during that time.
The company’s General Manager Sales and Service, Malcolm Johns, will take up the position of C. E. O. from 1st March 2005.
After completing his studies at the University of Waikato and Hyatt International’s Corporate Training program Mr. Johns held management positions in hospitality, transport, travel and tourism in New Zealand before joining Intercity Group one year ago.
