Quest For Top NZ Sausage Begins
The 2004 Great New Zealand Sausage Competition is shaping up to be a sizzling affair with 400 entrants in the midst of preparing their special (and often secret) recipes.
Organised by Retail Meat New Zealand and into its 10th year, judging will take place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 November.
The Grand Final will be held on Monday 22 November at Wellington’s Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa.
As in previous years, entrants will vie for prizes in eight categories: Pure Beef; Pure Pork; Pre-cooked/BBQ; Saveloy/Polony; International; Gourmet; Traditionally Flavoured; and Beef and Pork Flavoured.
Past winners will be back to defend hotly contested titles while new entrants are hopeful of inaugural glory.
The Great New Zealand Sausage Competition would like to acknowledge its principal sponsor Devro and supporting sponsors Kerry and Globus.
