Vodafone NZ selects Teradata to implement leading-edge Enterprise Data Warehouse
AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), today announced that Vodafone New Zealand
has selected the company to partner with it in creating a state-of-the art Enterprise Data Warehouse capable of managing
information across Vodafone’s New Zealand operation in order to create greater business efficiencies.
"The Teradata team has demonstrated how a single Enterprise Data Warehouse will allow us to store key information
across the business on one platform, enabling a single view of the organisation. This will allow us to generate greater
efficiencies freeing us up to focus on delivering to our customers," said John Tombleson, Vodafone NZ’s general manager
of business planning.
The contract represents Teradata’s first partnership with a New Zealand telco. Teradata’s vice president for India,
Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Julian Beavis, attributed Teradata’s win to the combination of Teradata’s
superior software solutions and the business experience acquired as a result of working with other leading
telecommunications providers including Vodafone Australia. Teradata has almost 20 years of experience working with some
of the world’s largest communications service providers.
“The lessons we have learned and the intellectual property we have developed working with other telcos worldwide
enables us to deliver extremely rich solutions,” said Mr Beavis.
