Skycity Hamilton Extends Support Of Waikato Racing Club
And Cambridge Harness Racing Club
SKYCITY Hamilton has announced it will continue its sponsorship of the Waikato Racing Club and Cambridge Harness Racing
Club for another season.
The one-year sponsorships will involve several events and races including the “SKYCITY Hamilton Cup”, launched last year
on the first day of the Waikato Racing Club’s February meeting.
SKYCITY Hamilton will sponsor four races throughout the Waikato Racing Club’s season, the most prestigious race being
the $50,000 SKYCITY Hamilton Guineas, a major event on the New Zealand racing calendar, to be run on 6 November 2004.
SKYCITY Hamilton’s General Manager Operations, Phil Keber says that SKYCITY is very pleased to further its support of
the racing community through extension of these sponsorships.
“The Waikato region is internationally recognised for its world class equine breeding and racing and we are thrilled to
extend our support of the local community through these sponsorships”.
“We see the sponsorships as a good fit with our entertainment values and look forward to successful partnerships with
both clubs that create successful and fun events for race goers. In particular, we were delighted to help initiate last
year’s inaugural SKYCITY Hamilton Cup, which celebrates the Waikato region and provided a new and exciting event for
local and visiting racing fans and we look forward to being part of this event again”, said Mr Keber.
Sponsorship of both clubs initially commenced in 2003. With SKYCITY on board for a second time the Hamilton and
Cambridge Racing Clubs can look forward to another positive season.
