UK Acquisition
New Zealand’s largest multi-disciplinary engineering, planning and architectural consultancy, Opus International Consultants has expanded its international business with the acquisition of the UK based firm, Evans Grant Consulting.
Evans Grant is based in Fareham, Hampshire. It specialises in structures, highways, and civil and underwater engineering.
Kevin Thompson, Opus Chief Executive comments: “Since our business was established in the UK in 1989, we have undertaken some very high profile projects including the design of a number of London Underground railway stations in London. More recently we have specialised in highway asset management services. With the acquisition of Evans Grant we will be looking to accelerate our UK growth. A second acquisition is also under negotiation. When completed, these two acquisitions will make a substantial contribution to our overall international growth.”
Opus now has over 1350 staff operating from 40 offices in New Zealand, the UK, Australia, Canada and Malaysia. There are also project offices in a number of countries in South East Asia and the Pacific undertaking development aid work.
