motorway closures affecting motorists from Saturday 2 October until
Thursday 7, as part of the Central Motorway Junction upgrade project.

CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 2 October until Thursday 7 October
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures
for ongoing work as part of the Central Motorway Junction upgrade
project.
CMJ Stage 1
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 3 October - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Monday:
. All northbound lanes between Market Rd and Gillies Ave
Detour: off at Market Rd off-ramp and on at Gillies Ave on-ramp.
Ramp and link closures:
Saturday 2 October - CLOSED - during the day and at night from 7am until
8pm:
. Port off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Wellesley St off-ramp (SH1 northbound) **
** Off-ramp closure will only be deployed if the Khyber Pass off-ramp
closure is cancelled.
Sunday 3 October - CLOSED - during the day and overnight from 6am until
6am on Monday:
. Khyber Pass off-ramp (SH1 northbound) *
. Port off-ramp (SH1 northbound)
. Wellesley St off-ramp (SH1 northbound) **
* Off-ramp will be reopened when full carriageway closure is required.
** Off-ramp closure will only be deployed if the Khyber Pass off-ramp
closure is cancelled.

. Khyber Pass Rd near the motorway ramps
Sunday 3 through to Thursday 7 October - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm
until 6am the following morning:
Either Boston Rd or Khyber Pass Rd near the motorway ramps
Ongoing motorway lane closures:
There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the
Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the
Symonds Street overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until
2005.
Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are
advised that there could be delays.
The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers
the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and
Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.
Project information centre: corner of Stanley Street and Alten Road,
Grafton, 8.30am - 5.30pm, weekdays.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends
from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with
CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern
Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.

Thursday
8.00am - 5.30pm, Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Saturdays 10:00am - 12:00pm and
the first Sunday of each month 10:00am - 12:00pm.
