Ford New Zealand To Hand Control Of F150 Importation To Walton Special Vehicles
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 16 September
Ford New Zealand has elected to hand control of the importation of F150 vehicles from the USA to Walton Special Vehicles
(WSV), although Ford dealers will still be able to offer F150 as part of their vehicle portfolio.
"We currently offer a range of 15 different models to New Zealand consumers, and whilst always looking for ways to
develop and expand this range, we felt it necessary to hand the sale of a specialised vehicle such as a converted F150
to an expert," said Marketing Manager of Ford New Zealand, Graeme Whickman.
"Essentially, there will be no change to the service that the customer currently receives."
Managing Director of WSV, Peter Walton, said that the F150 conversion programme was one that he had developed over ten
years, culminating in the all-new 2004 model year range of vehicles.
"We have enjoyed a long and successful association with the Ford F150 range, and are very excited with the possibilities
that the new range offers. It has already received rave reviews in the American automotive press, and customers in New
Zealand are already showing a strong interest."
"WSV will also back all of the conversion work done on the truck – including any warranty issues relating to the vehicle
itself," said Peter Walton.
Changes with regard to the importation and distribution process, including warranty matters, take effect with the 2004
model year.
