Get Over It - Competition Is Working
TelstraClear is obviously feeling the pain of our very successful Anytime calling plan, Telecom said today.
“The customers we have written to about our great Anytime plans are people who have recently made national calls or home to mobile calls with Telecom over a four month period, i.e. those on our retail customer lists,” Telecom General Manager Consumer Kelly Moore said today.
“We looked at our own calling records, not those of other carriers, and where on the basis of those records we believed they could benefit from being on our Anytime plan, of course we wanted to tell them the good news.
“Any suggestion we have used other carriers’ calling pattern information is false.
“Telecom categorically refutes the claim that it has used a database of customers with Non Code Access (NCA) with another provider.
“And of course it is only calling with Telecom that would be moved to the new Telecom plan, unless a customer advised us otherwise. There is absolutely no intent to bring another carrier’s calling customers back to us without the customer’s consent.
“We’re offering our customers a great deal. If other providers’ customers want to switch to us to get Anytime, that’s fine – it’s called competition,” Ms Moore said.
