Media Release 27th August 2004 TNS announces the launch of Incubator Leading market information company TNS has announced the launch of Incubator. Incubator can provide companies with information, interpretation and the insight necessary to thoroughly evaluate and develop ideas for new concepts, products, product improvements, product extensions and packaging revamps. Incubator can also offer innovative customer solutions from inception to completion, from a quick sensory evaluation with customers to consulting and research regarding all facets of product and service development.
Lena Gooderidge manages Incubator and has been working in the research industry for the past eight years, both in New Zealand and in the UK. She has worked across a wide range of markets, products and services "My passion though lies in product development research," she said. "There is no bigger buzz for me than seeing products and services in the marketplace that I've played an integral role in bringing to market"
Lena has managed numerous sensory projects. Online research has increasingly played a bigger role in the work that Incubator has been carrying out. "This is due to its benefits in both turnaround time and being able to include images straight from the design company. Our approach at Incubator is always customised and we bring together a team of highly skilled and experienced specialists to provide the best approach for each client's individual needs," she said.
Lena also has experience in conducting research in International markets. She manages trans-tasman clients and is currently managing a 13 country study in the Asia Pacific region. "I'm thrilled to be heading up Incubator."
We have a great group of innovative people with a lot of energy, really keen to drive this area of the business forward. We are looking forward to working further with some of New Zealand's best product development specialists." said Lena. Food technologist Mary Boulton comes from a product development role at FMCG company Frucor Beverages to join the Incubator team. Her specialty is understanding the FMCG sector and the vast array of SKU's onshelf that consumers appear to be drowning in.
Her focus is to understand and develop products that consumers reach for first. "During my time at Frucor I was involved with all aspects of the product development process from idea generation to bench top concept development and consumer testing right through to implementation into the factory, "said Mary Boulton "My greatest achievement would have been the development of the award winning H2GO flavoured water range, a success story that I'm very proud to have been part of."
"Coming from a product development role with 'hands on' experience I am conscious of the type of information that technologists, in particular, require feedback on for further enhancement of products/concepts.
I understand the challenges involved in trying to achieve a highly desirable consumer product, especially when unpleasant flavoured functional ingredients are involved," she said. "I have a great team working with me at Incubator, with Mary Boulton's Product Development client side experience, and also with the qualitative and quantitative specialists that are part of the Incubator team," Lena commented TNS have fantastic sensory facilities available - a purpose built 11 booth sensory evaluation facility at the Auckland offices provides a controlled environment for objective measurement.
