Auckland Airport to welcome Norfolk Jet Express this Sunday
A new airline, Norfolk Jet Express, joins the Auckland International Airport community this Sunday with the inaugural flight of its 97-seat Fokker-100 jet aircraft at 2:40pm.
The aircraft will be welcomed with the traditional water arch and has a one-hour turnaround before flying back to Norfolk Island.
Norfolk Jet Express will begin services with two flights a week, on Sundays and Tuesdays.
This is the airline's first truly international destination, after serving Australian airports.
The chairman and chief executive of the airline, Gregg Prechelt, will be on board the inaugural flight along with the Hon Grant Tambling, Administrator of Norfolk Island; Hon David Buffett, Speaker of the Norfolk Island Government and Minister for Tourism and Community Services; and Mrs Jackie Pye, Chairman of the Norfolk Island Government Tourism Bureau.
