New appliance blends a feast of functions
Chopping, whisking, crushing, beating will take on a whole new dimension in New Zealand kitchens with the launch of an advanced multipurpose appliance, banishing forever bulky bench-top food processors.
The Braun Multiquick Professional handblender will meet the needs of everyday Kiwi cooks as well as professional chefs and will look stylish in any kitchen.
The versatile appliance is not only a chopper and blender in one, but also sports a whisk and small herb chopper. The top end model has an ice crusher.
A number of top New Zealand food writers and chefs have already given the appliance the professional once over, with the results standing up to their expert critique.
Well-known chef and food writer Simon Holst was among the group of food experts that had the exclusive chance to trial the handblender in advance of general release.
"I prepared a wide selection of dishes using the Braun Multiquick Professional. The different functions allowed me to make garnishes, chop onions and herbs for mince, create smoothies with the ice crusher and whisk eggs and butter for cakes," says Simon.
"I thought the metal whisk had a lovely smooth action and the herb chopper was a great size. The ice crusher was easy and safe to use and the variable speed was an added benefit."
The world's number one selling handblender, the Braun Multiquick Professional was designed in Spain to be visually attractive, sleek and stylish, yet compact and practical.
"The Braun Multiquick Professional is engineered to meet the highest standards of functionality and quality," says Braun Business Manager Matthew Hamlin. "Its contemporary design is complementary to kitchen décors rather than unsightly like some food processors."
The new anti-splashing shaft, a unique feature to Braun, leaves kitchens splash and mess free. Cleaning the appliance is simple with easy to dismantle attachments and when the appliance has done its job, effortlessly stored given its small size.
All the food experts said they would recommend the handblender to the public and other food professionals, and will continue to use it themselves.
One food writer said the Braun Multiquick Professional was a "new favourite kitchen tool".
The Braun Multiquick Professional MR5550BCHC is available from leading appliance stores and has a RRP of $169.95.
