Developing Young Leaders
New Zealand Young Farmers have just one week left to apply for the 2004 Young Farmers Leadership Development Programme. The programme is funded by the Sustainable Farming Fund, and teaches leadership skills to rural youth.
“We are looking for applicants who want to develop their confidence and people skills in a supported environment. If you want to work more effectively with people or wanting to better yourself – then this is the programme for you,” says Project Manager Nicola Holmes.
New Zealand Young Farmers President Hilary Philips attended the 2003 Leadership Development Programme (LDP). “At the beginning of the programme I was apprehensive of standing up in front of a group of people to speak unprepared. Now I have the skills and confidence to take up the challenge. The LDP teaches you practical skills that you use in everyday life."
Applications for the New Zealand Young Farmers Leadership Development Programme close Wednesday 11 August 2004. For application forms contact Project Manager Nicola Holmes PH 027 232 7578 or nicolaholmes@xtra.co.nz
