Cars Lead NZ’s Top 20 Search Items In July
Cars were the most searched-for consumer item in July 2004 on the New Zealand’s largest online market, Trade Me.
Holden, Mini, BMW and Subaru were the top four search items, each being searched over 20,000 times. Technology items also featured strongly with both iPod and Nokia passing the 20,000 mark.
A recent stock market float appeared to influence on-line searches with Pumpkin Patch coming in at number 12 on the July top 20 search items. Big brands were also evident in the top 20 with Nike, Sony and Playboy all making strong showings.
The full list of the top 20 search items for July is listed below.
The latest figures show that for New Zealand internet users, Trade Me is responsible for more than 50% of all pages monitored by Nielsen//NetRatings in July. (Source: Nielsen//NetRatings Market Intelligence, Domestic Traffic, July 2004) Trade Me has over 500,000 New Zealand members and around 230,000 items for sale.
