2004/2005 New Zealand Hotel Council Board Announced
The New Zealand Hotel Council has announced its new Board for 2004/05. As the result of an earlier decision to reduce the size of the board, to endorse the five regionally-elected chairmen and to hold a national vote for the other four positions, the five current regional chairs have been re-elected.
They are:
Brett Stuart (Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland)
Graeme Back (Park Heritage Rotorua)
Wayne Martin (InterContinental Wellington)
Penny Clark (Heritage Christchurch)
John Clarke (Millenium Hotel Queenstown)
The successful nominees for the four members elected by NZHC financial members ‘at large’ are:
Steve Kirkpatrick - Rydges
Neil Scanlan – Accor
Bill Sheppard - InterContinental
Gordon Wilson – MCK
At a meeting following the AGM, board members elected Steve Kirkpatrick as chairman and Gordon Wilson as deputy.
Tribute was paid to Gordon for his role as chairman during NZHC’s establishment and former board members were thanked for their commitment and leadership over the last two years.
NZHC will meet quarterly with regional groups in Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown each month.
