Wishart To Investigate Australia
Broadcaster Ian Wishart has resigned from his regular talk back slot to further his publishing empire across the Tasman.
Wisharts company “Howling at the Moon Publishing Ltd” is set to announce a launch date for the Australian edition of the
popular New Zealand Investigate Magazine.
Ian Wishart said today the launch into Australia, backed by a group of international investors, will take Investigate to
around double the size of Metro in circulation, and New Zealand readers will benefit from the huge increase in resource
the Australian investment brings. “It’s big step, but we are very excited about the publication, says Wishart. “The
magazine will require more of my time and the hours at Radio Pacific were no longer conducive to publishing deadlines.”
Ian Wishart replaced veteran broadcaster Geoff Sinclair on the evening show on Radio Pacific three years ago. Wishart,
whose journalistic credentials include winner or finalist in national and international awards 18 times in 22 years,
said he would continue to be based in Auckland as Group Managing Editor.
“Ian has built up a very loyal listener base on Radio Pacific. I think the recent announcement to changes to the
afternoon and evening lineup allowed Ian to reassess his workload. I wish him every success”, says Chris Gregory Radio
Pacific Programme Director.
Ian Wisharts last show is on Wednesday August 18, 2004.
