Bank of New Zealand establishes Trust account for victims of Bay of Plenty floods
Bank of New Zealand has established a Trust account in conjunction with the Whakatane District Council to aid people affected by the flooding in Whakatane District.
Bank of New Zealand's public relations manager, Zaman Toleafoa, says the funds raised will be distributed by the Whakatane District Council.
"The flooding has devastated parts of the Bay of Plenty, and this fund will enable people from all over the country to show their support for those affected by the disaster," says Mr Toleafoa.
Mr Toleafoa says the public can make donations at any of the bank’s branches throughout the country, or by using their EFTPOS card via any Bank of New Zealand ATM (usual ATM fees and charges apply).
“We’re setting up a donation facility on our ATMs that will enable people to make a donation to the fund via any Bank of New Zealand ATM from later this afternoon,” says Mr Toleafoa
