Westpac wants to hear from customers hit by flooding
Westpac has encouraged those of its customers who have been hit by flooding in the Bay of Plenty to speak to their local branches about what immediate help the bank may be able to provide.
Westpac Chief Executive Officer, Ann Sherry, said that customers in the flood-hit areas might need to take a break from making payments on home loans.
“We know that natural disasters like this are extremely stressful, with customers dealing with damage to their personal property and home, and perhaps their businesses too, and we want to be able to help if we can,” Ann Sherry said.
Westpac has a number of branches in the region, including at Whakatane, Opotiki and Tauranga. Customers unable to get to those branches but concerned about their financial situation can contact Westpac on 0800 400 600.
