Ballance lowers prices of key fertilisers
Ballance Agri-Nutrients announced today, price decreases on two of its four key fertilisers effective from 1 July.
Super 10 has dropped a further $2 per tonne and Urea $5 per tonne. There has been no change in the price of Potash which
had a $34 per tonne drop just six months ago, and Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) is up $16.50 per tonne, but still remains
$5 below last year’s prices.
“Given Ballance’s price reductions in November last year, this means the major fertilisers are still available at the
lowest prices in over five years,” says Larry Bilodeau, Ballance CEO.
“The price changes mean Ballance continues to deliver the best quality fertilisers to farmers at very competitive
prices.
“Our ability to lower prices comes from carefully monitoring and managing internal cost structures. This is partially
offset from continuing worldwide pressure on shipping and associated freight price increases. Prices of DAP and some
minor trace elements have increased significantly internationally and regrettably we’ve been forced to pass these on.
“Ballance is pleased to continue to deliver value to farmers despite increasingly adverse international fertiliser
market conditions.
“We predict external factors to continue to drive up costs for most of our key fertiliser products in the medium term,
but are pleased to be able to pass price reductions in the interim,” he says.
