Dr John Hood Resigns from Fonterra Board
Departing University of Auckland Vice Chancellor, Dr John Hood has resigned from Fonterra's Board of Directors, effective 30 June 2004.
Dr Hood has been an independent Fonterra Director since May 2001. He has resigned from the Fonterra Board to take up his new role as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, which takes effect in October 2004.
Fonterra Chairman Henry van der Heyden said the co-operative greatly valued Dr Hood's valuable contribution to Fonterra through its formative stages.
"John's foresight and guidance, based on his many years' of commercial and governance experience, was of huge benefit to Fonterra," he said.
"On behalf of staff, management and the board, I wish John all the best for his career move to Oxford."
