NZIM launches Women in Management series
"It started with a sandwich"
The New Zealand Institute of Management, Central launches its new Women in Management series with keynote speaker Andrea
Gibson Scarlett, founder and CEO, of Wishbone, Friday, 25 June 2004 at Shed 5 in Wellington.
Wishbone, a gourmet food outlet, originated from the concept of providing a hearty sandwich and has grown to a leading
gourmet outlet - all in under four years. Already, it is number 35 in the Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50 Companies, with
seven stores in Wellington and two in Auckland, and positioning itself to be a major New Zealand food brand.
The Women in Management series, organised and managed by a committee of professional women, has been established in
response to the interests of women managers and spotlight women who have started medium sized companies and managed them
effectively to compete on a national and international level.
Ian Balfour, NZIM Chief Executive said "The concept of a NZIM Women in Management series has been in the pipeline for
sometime and I am delighted to see the series up and running with a very positive response from our membership."
