Provinces Score Big At Annual Harveys Real Estate Awards
Auckland and Wellington properties may still be bringing in the top prices but provincial offices and their sales representatives cleaned up the 2004 annual Harveys Real Estate Awards, held recently in Auckland.
The high performing Taupo office took out numerous awards, including the William Harvey Founders Trophy for the highest gross commission achieved for the fourth consecutive year. It also scooped up the title of ‘Most Successful Office for Number of Sales’ in its category and the ‘Most Successful Auction Listing Office Overall’ award.
Taupo’s success was helped in part by standout sales achiever Austin Harris, who took out Harvey’s most sought after award, the Norman Harvey Senior Cup for ‘Most Successful Salesperson Overall’ for a second consecutive year. Austin was also named ‘Most Successful Salesperson for Gross Commissions Overall, the ‘Top Auctioneer for Most Property Sold Under the Hammer’, and ‘Most Successful Salesperson for Advertising Monies Received’ in addition to topping the categories for both auction and exclusive listings.
Harveys Gisborne also received several honours, winning its categories for the Most Successful Office in ‘Number of Sales’, ‘Number of Auctions Listed’, and ‘Gross Commissions Received’. Gisborne sales reps also took out several individual awards, with Melissa Owen named ‘Top Administrator of the Year’, David Egan recognised as ‘Most Successful Salesperson in Gross Commissions Received for Rural Sales’, and branch owner Philip Searle receiving the ‘Manager of the Year’ award.
Bill King of Harveys Kaikohe ensured that the Northland region featured in the awards, taking the title for ‘Most Successful Salesperson for Value of Property Sold’ for the fourth time in five years. He was also voted ‘2004 Rural Real Estate Salesperson of the Year’ for the Northland region at the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) Awards.
The highly coveted Max Eves Trophy for ‘Most Successful Salesperson for Number of Sales’ went to last year’s ‘Rookie of the Year’, Jenny Bunn of Harveys New Plymouth, who made a total of 74 sales in 2004, heading off more than 450 sales reps across the Harveys Group for the most sales in a single year.
City offices were not entirely shut out of the spotlight, however, with Paul Scarfe of Harveys Blockhouse Bay receiving the award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in the Auction Area’ and the Manurewa branch taking out the title of ‘Most Successful Sales Office Overall’ (based on highest number of sales divided by number of salespeople).
