Emirates E-Tickets Now In New Zealand
New Zealand is one of 19 countries in which Emirates Airline has rolled out a new electronic ticketing system.
The e-tickets have been available on e-ticketable sectors through Emirates' own reservations facility in New Zealand since mid-May and from tomorrow (1 June) will also be available to travel agents using the Galileo GDS.
New e-ticket departure points will be added to the current list of countries during 2004.
Electronic tickets do away with paper tickets and allow passengers to book flights conveniently with Emirates call centres, travel agents and on the internet at www.emirates.com
Emirates chairman, Sheik Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, said: "E-tickets are an affirmation of our customer-driven philosophy. "
He said that, while e-tickets were an accepted practice in various parts of the world, Emirates wanted to ensure smooth and trouble-free implementation and had invested five years in the project.
