Final Reminder To Vote In Fonterra Elections
With less than two days remaining in Fonterra's Board elections, more than 30% of votes have already been cast. Voting closes at midday on Wednesday, May 12 and it is now too late for shareholders to send back their votes by post.
"Fax and internet voting are the only two methods for voting by shareholders between now and the 12 noon close off," says Returning Officer Warwick Lampp.
"I remind shareholders to vote as soon as possible.
"Any shareholder who has lost or has not received their voting pack, should contact me immediately for a replacement."
On-line secure voting is being used for the first time in the Director elections with Internet voting proving to be as popular as fax votes.
"On-line voting is a better option for those last minute voters otherwise the fax will bank up and delay the counting. As it is I don't expect to be able to announce the result until early morning of the day after voting closes."
There are four candidates for the three available Director positions with Malcolm Bailey joining the three sitting Directors, Chairman Henry van der Heyden, Mark Townshend and Murray Flett retiring by rotation in line with Fonterra's constitution. The three Directors are elected by a nationwide vote of Fonterra shareholders.
Any queries regarding the election should be directed to the Election Hotline on 0508 666 446. Warwick Lampp Returning Officer - Fonterra Co-operative Group
