DHL Appoints New National Manager Ocean Services
Auckland, April 28 2004 - DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, the global air and ocean freight provider and logistics arm of DHL, today announced the appointment of Owen Emery to the position of National Manager Ocean Services.
Mr Emery adds significant strength to the company’s commitment to providing innovative, leading-edge ocean freight solutions, possessing 10 years experience in the international shipping and freight forwarding industries. He joins the company from Kuehne and Nagel Limited where he held the role of National Seafreight Manager.
With career achievements including most recently fostering record growth in both coastal operations and Asian imports while at Kuehne and Nagel, he has held senior positions for leading organisations such as Cosco New Zealand and Carter Holt Harvey.
DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, New Zealand, Managing Director, Brian Broom, said, “his leadership skills, organizational capabilities and extensive experience made Owen the ideal candidate for this vital position.”

With a Bachelor of Forestry Science, Mr Emery will be responsible for the negotiation of both local and international seafreight rates, overseeing the Sales and Key Accounts teams, as well as obtaining the latest market data to help maintain the company’s edge within the highly competitive market.
