Online training available to small business community
The New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) Enterprise Training Programme is now available online to small business owners and operators in some regions.
The online training, developed by Christchurch's The Small Business Company Ltd (TSBC), is available from NZTE's Enterprise Training Programme providers in Northland, Auckland (south and west), Waikato, Bay of Plenty, East Coast, Hawkes Bay, Wanganui/Palmerston North, Wellington, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland.
NZTE Business Development Group manager Hans Frauenlob says with interest in online training growing The Small Business Company Ltd's initiative was very timely.
"The Enterprise Training Programme is fully-funded by NZTE and predominantly delivered via workshops and follow-up coaching, but we were happy to introduce online training by helping to make TSBC's online training modules available too. The feedback from training providers and participants alike has been very positive," he says.
The online training modules are based on information provided by a range of experts and material gathered from the thousands of people who have participated in Enterprise Training workshops, says The Small Business Company Ltd Managing Director Glen Senior.
"Feedback from the initial trials found online training provided convenience and confidentiality. Participants also said the modules were ideally customised and they liked the fact that they could go at their own pace."
"One Hamilton participant told us the online training was 'easy to understand, simple, precise and fun' and that it was easy to relate to due to the "great ideas and scenarios that made it realistic'.
"Others commented on the benefits of being able work through the material in their own time at home," he says.
