New Director Joins Board Of Contact Energy
Contact Energy announced today that Mr Kevin Smith, Chief Financial Officer of Edison Mission Energy (EME), Contact’s majority shareholder, has accepted an invitation to join the Board.
Mr Smith’s prospective appointment to the Board was foreshadowed earlier in the year when Mr Tom McDaniel, Chief Executive Officer of EME, announced that he would be stepping down as a director of Contact.
Prior to his assuming the role of EME’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr Smith held a number of senior finance positions with the company, including Treasurer. He joined EME in 1986 and is a graduate of the University of California with a degree in chemical engineering.
Mr Smith takes up his role as a director of Contact Energy effective from today.
