MasterCard Captures Home Improvement Inspiration with New Priceless® TV Commercial
Auckland, 26 March, 2004 – MasterCard International is targeting New Zealand and Australian home improvers with its latest Priceless® TV commercial Inspiration, which will air nationally from March 28, exploring everyday inspiration for home improvement and renovation projects.
The 30 second TVC features a man having dinner in a restaurant with his colleagues. There, he finds inspiration for his renovating project by all things around him. As he notices a woman with a beehive hairdo across the restaurant, the voiceover says: “Adding another storey: $50,000”; a small boy with missing front teeth prompts: “Knocking the back wall out: $2,000”; a waitress with dazzling earrings: “Chandelier for the dining room: $3000”. The TVC then shows the man in his newly renovated house and the voiceover says: “Finding that creative bone in your body: Priceless. There are some things money can’t buy. For all your home improvement ideas there’s MasterCard. Accepted wherever inspiration takes you.”
Inspiration was created and shot in Australia by advertising agency McCann-Erickson Sydney and production company Radical Media. This is the seventh MasterCard Priceless TVC produced for the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Natalie Lockwood, vice president, Marketing, MasterCard Australia and New Zealand said “the insight behind the campaign is that home improvement is a very personal and creative process. Your home is where you can demonstrate your creativity.”
“MasterCard is the best way to pay for all your home improvement needs,” she said.
MasterCard’s Priceless TVC will run for seven weeks on TV One, TV2, TV3 and Sky TV.
