Tegel Offers Quick Roast Chickens To Flood Affected Families
This Friday – March 27th Tegel will deliver Quick Roast chickens to the families and individuals affected by flooding in Waitotara and the Rangitikei districts, with the support of the Civil Defence and volunteers in the areas.
This will help bring some relief to the growing demand for ready-made forms of meals to hundreds of families in the two areas without facilities to properly prepare a decent home cooked meal.
Tegel’s General Manager, Bruce Scott, said there has been a joint effort between Tegel and these Civil Defence operations to identify a suitable relief package that will help meet the immediate needs of families and individuals affected by the flooding.
“A Quick Roast takes 15 minutes to prepare, so for families spending long days recovering what they can from the flooding won’t have to worry about preparing an evening meal at the end of a hard day,” he said.
The extent of the devastation is still only being realised, which means on-going relief now requires a very focused and concentrated effort.
“We hope that our contribution will help provide some short-term relief while families and communities rally together to move forward in the coming weeks and months.
