History
The evolution of the MYOB Group began in 1982 with the development of a ground-breaking range of finance software
products in the United States. The original elements of the Group were among the first developers to produce business
management systems purpose-built for the small business.
In 1989 a small US developer, Teleware Inc, made the first release of MYOB Accounting for the Macintosh. The success of
the product led to the development of MYOB Accounting for Windows in 1991, with the company winning a number of awards
for the product on both platforms.
The MYOB Group, founded in 1991, acquired the Australian republishing rights to the product, modifying it extensively to
meet the needs of the Australian market.
