Sailing Into The New Business Year
Strong business leads for functions and accommodation have a resulted from a two-day expo held on Sunday and Monday (subs 25 and 26 January) at Wellington's James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor, according to general manager, John Primmer.
"Rather than sit back and wait for the action, we opened our doors and invited Wellingtonians and corporates to come in, take a look around and secure their accommodation and function bookings for 2004, at competitive rates. Five hundred families and corporates took advantage of the offer.
"We sailed into the 2004 business year showcasing the hotel's refurbished foyer, accommodation and function rooms and offered our key suppliers the chance to join the expo and promote their products and services.
"The expo has resulted in several quality confirmed bookings and leads for follow-up as well as sales of vouchered products over the two days," said John Primmer.
The hotel's function rooms were set up as a one-stop shop with 24 booths showcasing companies involved with: audio-visual equipment; specialist food and beverages; music; entertainment; themed events and photography.
