TV move pleases Avalon staff
Staff at TVNZ’s Avalon studio are welcoming news that the Good Morning programme is to move back to Wellington.
EPMU organiser George Collins, who represents technical and production staff at the Hutt Valley studios, said that they were delighted to know that the programme was moving back to Wellington.
“They believe that they have a facility which is, arguably, the best in Australasia,” he said. “Staff believe it should be used more, and have been concerned by the trend over recent years to move production to Auckland. It’s great to see this programme coming home to Wellington, where it started.”
About 100 people work at the Avalon studios.
