DHL Helps Exporters Cut Through Trade Red Tape
New Zealand exporters now have access to a new technology system which will prevent potential bottlenecks created by
international customs requirements. The software-based system will be launched this week by leading air freight company,
DHL.
The unique application, named Trade Automation Service (TAS), is the first interactive online system of its type to
offer access to trade and customs clearance information worldwide, whenever and wherever it is needed. Unlike any other
product on the market, the comprehensive system provides instantaneous access to more than eight million trade rules and
tariffs covering 50 countries or 80 per cent of the world’s trade.
According to DHL Express General Manager, Phil Rountree, TAS will provide its customers with unparalleled access to key
information 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

enable exporters to carry out anything from calculating and comparing charges and rules between two or more countries to
generating the documentation necessary to ensure smooth customs clearance. Powered by Open Harbor, a leading provider of
global trade management solutions, the online system is continuously updated with the latest data and information.
