Zero To $7 Million In A Nanosecond With Lotto
Fast cars – and fast money – are up for grabs with Lotto this weekend, says New Zealand Lotteries Commission CEO Trevor Hall.
“One extremely fortunate player could win at least $7 million with Powerball as New Zealand’s favourite jackpotting game climbs ever closer to its record level - $19 million in September this year,” he says.
Only 3 players have won more than $7 million; the $19 million was shared by 14 lucky players who won $1.3 million each.
“We made 8 big winners with Lotto last weekend and there will be plenty more both sides of Christmas. Watch this space,” Trevor Hall said.
As well as Powerball, Holden Commodore SS V8s will end up in the garages of 10 excited Triple Dip players.
So what would you do if you won the massive $7 million this weekend:
1. Buy a small island or subdivision for your family?
2. Make Ronald McDonald’s day by giving everyone in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch a Big Mac?
3. Fix your 7 July date with the taxman forever?
4. Start a Holden dealership or racing team?
Trevor Hall says big jackpots in tandem with special draws are very popular with customers.
“Our retailers tell us that their customers love winning cars like the hugely desirable Commodore SS and these sales, in turn, fuel the Powerball jackpot.
“Snowballing sales are great for the community because all of our profits are transferred to the Lottery Grants Board for distribution to worthy causes.”
