Anne Knowles takes employer role in Asia
Business NZ Executive Director Anne Knowles has been appointed to an ILO position looking after employer interests in Asia.
Based in Bangkok, Ms Knowles will be responsible for promoting and developing employer organisations in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
Business NZ Chief Executive Simon Carlaw said Ms Knowles would bring a wealth of expertise to the new role from her extensive background in advocacy and legal representation in New Zealand.
"The appointment recognises Anne Knowles' exceptional talents and attests to the work of Business NZ in advocating for business, growth and prosperity," Mr Carlaw said. "New Zealand employers will be sorry to see her go, but proud of her achievements."
Ms Knowles was previously Chief Executive of the NZ Employers' Federation and industrial lawyer for the meat industry and in private practice. She takes up her new role in February 2004.
