New Zealand's Leaders Real Estate Limited Converts to RE/MAX
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/
Following months of analysis and discussion, the second largest independent real estate organization in New Zealand, Leaders Real Estate (1987) Limited, has become RE/MAX Leaders Real Estate.
With 21 offices in the greater Wellington area and 250 sales associates, the firm completed more than 7000 transactions last year -- an average of 28 per agent -- producing a sales volume of $30 million and a 40 percent market share.
"When RE/MAX vice president of international development, Cliff Shillington shared the success profile of Leaders Real Estate with us, we immediately recognized the caliber of the firm," commented Daryl Jesperson, RE/MAX chief executive officer.
"Their market share, transaction and sales volume and average earnings of $112,000 per agent all run parallel with RE/MAX agents around the world. Our business models are also similar, so the match is ideal. We are extremely pleased that Leaders main principal, Rob Garlick and his associates selected the international benefits of RE/MAX. It is truly a 'win-win-win' for everyone."
Founded in 1987, Leaders Real Estate offers a full line of real estate services and properties, including residential, investment and reinstate "Premium Properties." The firm has maintained the top position in the Wellington area since 1992. RE/MAX opened franchise operations in New Zealand in February this year, naming Tayte Cozens, a 12-year real estate veteran as operations director. Within weeks, discussions began with Leaders Real Estate regarding a conversion to RE/MAX.
"The opportunity to 'marry' our RE/MAX-styled associate remuneration, which we introduced in 1990, together with the balance of all RE/MAX International has to offer, was one we could not afford to miss," said Rob Garlick, director of RE/MAX Leaders Real Estate. "We anticipate a further business quantum leap similar to that which we enjoyed when we first changed to 100% remuneration."
Eleven other RE/MAX franchises have been purchased in New Zealand since February with six already opened. The conversion of Leaders Real Estate increases RE/MAX presence more than four-fold overnight. Buyers and sellers in New Zealand have access to a property rich web site www.leaders.co.nz that can also be accessed from www.remax.com .
The RE/MAX franchise network, now celebrating its 30th year of consecutive growth, is a global real estate system operating in 44 countries. More than 4,600 independently owned offices engage 85,000 member sales associates who lead the industry in professional designations, experience and production while providing real estate services in residential, commercial, referral, relocation, and asset management.
