Sponsorship conference targets non profit organisations
Community arts, sports, welfare and educational groups could benefit from a sponsorship conference tailored specifically for the non profit sector to be held in November.
Sponsorship Workout – for successful strategies and innovative ideas will be held from 4 - 6 November 2003 in Wellington and Upper Hutt.
Conference organiser and Director of Foresee Communications Ltd, Heather Newell said, “All too often sponsorship conferences are aimed at the corporate sector at corporate sector prices. Our conference has been specifically tailored to cater for the non profit sector with the conference fee kept as low as possible.”
“The Sponsorship Workout will be suitable for the arts, sport and recreation, welfare, environment, health, science and educational sectors, local and national government, librarians, community development and recreational officers, fundraisers, events organisers, consultants and, even, corporates,” said Heather.
Conference speakers will cover topics such as creating a sponsorship culture, branding for the non profit sector, handling multi-sponsorships, pricing, and use of the media in sponsorships.
One part of the conference will involve a round table activity called Meet the Corporate Sponsor. Delegates will meet with at least eight leading corporate sponsorship managers and ask them questions about sponsorship. At this stage managers from ASB Bank, Genesis Energy, Mobil Oil, and United Networks are confirmed. Other sponsorship managers are still to confirm their availability.
Day Three of the conference will involve break out sessions covering events, getting started with sponsorship, and leveraging existing relationships.
“Participants will be able to plan, strategise and start their own sponsorship fundraising plans,” said Heather. “At the end of the session the three groups will come together to report on issues raised and possible action plans.”
“This part of the conference promises to be of particular use to sponsorship fundraisers to discuss new trends and create action plans for the future. I predict that some of the key issues will be training, information sharing and how to expand the sponsorship sector. If we can formulate some national strategies for sponsorship growth the conference will be well worth the investment for the participants over the long term,” she said.
Registration for the conference is $795 + GST.
