New President Of Hanz Auckland Branch
Hails From Waiheke
At the Annual General Meeting of the Auckland Branch of the Hospitality Association of New Zealand, held late last month, Auckland members voted in Jennifer Rouse of Waiheke Island’s Harbour Masters and On the Rocks Bars as the new Branch President.
Actively involved in the Hospitality Association for over eleven years in Auckland and in Northland where she owned a hotel in Russell for many years, Ms Rouse says that she has a keen interest in the issues confronting the Hospitality Industry today.
“The Smoking Legislation currently before the house, recent changes to the Gambling Laws and proposed amendments to the Holidays Act are all creating a challenging environment for the industry today” she says “and I will be seeking to actively pursue and promote the interests of Association members and the industry in general.”
“I am also keen to promote educational and networking opportunities for our local Auckland Business Operators” says Ms Rouse, who noted the increasingly diverse and rapidly growing local membership.
She paid tribute to her predecessor, outgoing Branch President Tony Martin, of the Gables Tavern in Herne Bay, saying she was proud to be involved in the long tradition of the Association which celebrated its centenary last year.
