Australia To Get A Taste Of Anathoth
Anathoth the award winning Nelson jam and pickle producer is now in full export mode for Australia. Anathoth's export
plans increased in momentum during the past year with the opening of a new cool store and factory, increased suppliers
and a new investment partnership. All of which have meant the planned expansion into Australia can be undertaken with
confidence.
The company has conducted extensive test marketing in Australia over the past two years recording positive results from
customers at supermarket stores in Melbourne, Victoria.
Managing Director Owen Pope said, "another positive spin-off has been that as a result of Australian tourists visiting
Nelson and sampling our products, we now get email requests for online sales and regular calls asking whether our jams
and pickles are available in Australia. The great news for Australians is that shortly they will soon be able to go to
their nearest supermarket and find the Anathoth range."
General Manager Tim Pope said, "It has been a long development process in balancing the goal of maintaining our
philosophy of batch-making our products, maintaining a high-quality, consistent product and the need to produce the
quantities needed for export into countries as large as Australia. We are expecting some significant growth over the
next few years and it is an exciting time to be involved with a family-based business seeking to expand and creating
jobs in the regions."
