Harcourts Picton Breaks Top Residential Sale Record
What is believed to be the highest amount ever paid for a residential property in Picton has just been confirmed by
Harcourts Picton owner, Brenda Davey. The renowned luxury property at 41 Marina Drive, Waikawa Bay sold for close to its
listed price of $1.6 million.
Ms Davey described it as “a landmark property with the marina at the doorstep” and added that property of this calibre
with its many special features was “extremely rare” in Picton. This was the first time it had been on the market since
it was built 17 years ago.
The secluded luxury and stunning sea views of the Waikawa Bay property in the Marlborough Sounds attracted interest from
as far away as Germany, the United Kingdom and Australia, however Ms Davey added that it was a New Zealand buyer who
purchased it.
Crafted from cedar and Alexandra schist the large homestead included three bedrooms and three bathrooms as part of its
360 sqm floor area. It also had four car garaging and numerous entertainment decks to take advantage of the stunning
harbour views stretching well over 30 kilometres down Marlborough Sounds from its elevated 9780 sqm site.
Ms Davey said the Marlborough area was certainly continuing to attract a lot of buyer interest from both throughout New
Zealand and ‘ex-pats Kiwis’ looking to return home in the near future.
